Mezzanine Loan for the Expansion and Rebranding of Secrets Emerald Resort and Spa in Cancún

Villanueva Ortiz Abogados, S.C., advised and represented Duxten, S.A. (an affiliate of Joslogui, S.L.) and other affiliates and special purpose vehicles of Joslogui, S.L., as borrower, joint obligors and guarantors, on a USD$35,000,000.00 mezzanine secured loan granted by APX Capital fund, a Mexican real estate investment fund. Joslogui, S.L., is one of the leading hospitality real estate developers in Europe with operations in Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Puerto Morelos. The proceeds of the facility will be used for the construction, expansion and rebranding of the hotel “Secrets Emerald Resort and Spa” located in Cancún, Mexico.
