Villanueva Ortiz Abogados advises Bancomext on a $95,000,000.00 USD loan and $6,000,000.00 USD VAT loan granted to Hotel Hoyo Uno, a subsidiary of RLH Properties.
Partner, Eduardo Villanueva Ortiz, leading associate Emiliano Flores Zepeda, and law clerk Casilda Rodríguez-Peña Monterrubio, advised and represented Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior, S.N.C., Institución de Banca de Desarrollo (Bancomext), as lender, in connection with a $95,000,000.00 USD credit and $6,000,000.00 USD VAT secured credit facility granted to Hotel Hoyo Uno, S. de R.L. de C.V., owner of Hyatt’s Luxury Resort “Alila Mayakoba” in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.
VOA was in charge of preparing and executing both credit agreements and mortgages over the hotel that’s located in the most exclusive residential development in the Riviera Maya Region.
The loan will be used to fund Hotel Hoyo Uno’s multimillion-dollar rebranding of the hotel from the “Andaz” brand to the “Alila” one, which will be Hyatt’s first Alila-branded resort in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This transaction solidifies RLH Properties already prestigious portfolio, which includes Mayakoba’s Banyan Tree, Rosewood and Fairmont Resorts, Mexico City’s Four Seasons Hotel, and Los Cabos’ Park Hyatt Resort, among other assets, including golf & polo resorts in the Riviera Maya Region.
